Welcome to an exhibition of some of my favourite writers in the field of fertility.
This piece is about celebrating the writers I have found on Substack who are also writing about the reproductive story in their own unique ways.
It’s about sharing their work with you because it deserves to be seen. It’s a gathering together of words written from raw places, from vantage points and from deep in the well. They deserve an exhibition - and here it is. Please share this across your communities so that we can shine our little ship lights across the ocean to each other.
I want this to be a fluid piece that I periodically update, (or maybe there will be more exhibitions, I’ll find my way through that). I’ve been writing in this space now for almost six months, finding freedom in the calmer waters of Substack and the slowed down pace of long form writing that Instagram reels stole from me.
This is also the beginning of a community of writers who write about fertility. At the end of March I’ll be running a workshop, writers in fertility which is included in paid subscriptions and also available to opt into via a paid ticket for non subscribers here.
In the workshop we’ll explore how we can step into writing in this way, our barriers, our vulnerability and the aim is twofold; to give new writers a big confidence boost that you can write in this way and that your words are scared art. It’s also to sow the seeds of a vibrant community of writers (and yes, you are a writer - we all are) who can connect, share their pieces and writing journey.
Joining details will be sent to paid subscribers next month.
Small print; I will invariably miss people. This is why I want the piece to be a moving feast.. please share omissions in the comments. There isn’t a hierarchy of follower numbers or metrics or any of that stuff- I simply want this to be a repository, a shortcut to the words that people in these landscapes are seeking. So here they are, the writers here that I want to celebrate.
Finishing this with a deep thank you to everyone who chooses to share their words about their reproductive stories with others. It takes courage to share art of this kind and I’m so grateful to you.
